During a deep tissue massage the pressure is stronger, slower, and concentrated on problematic areas of tension, fatigue, and pain. This might lead to a little discomfort, but it alleviates chronic pain in the long term. There may be some soreness the following day in the areas treated but this should disappear quickly leaving your muscles looser with more mobility and range of movement. The massage includes the use of volcanic hot stones in some areas to warm the muscles and the use of a handheld percussion massager to perform targeted treatment on muscle groups. This massage is always customised to your individual requirements.

Reflexology is an ancient practice renown for aiding relaxation, releasing tension & enhancing sleep. Gentle but firm pressure is applied to specific points along the feet and heels. Many cultures and ancient civilisations practiced reflexology theorising that our hands, feet, ears, and face are connected to our organs and body systems via our nerve endings and therefore through the nervous system. Whilst funded research into reflexology is light, more evidence is emerging on the importance of our nervous system and how reflexology can aid and benefit the body at a cellular level.

Reiki – 1 hour treatment – £47
Reiki is an ancient technique used for stress reduction and relaxation. Widely believed to have benefits to physical and mental health, it is a gentle, non invasive therapy that involves the therapist lightly placing hands on or near the body in specific energy locations. Reiki aims to assist in unblocking and balancing to enable energy to flow freely and openly throughout the body. You will be laying down but remain fully clothed. The therapist does not talk during the treatment and you may experience sensations such as heat, gentle pulsing or tingling. Some people experience visualisations such as seeing colours or memories. Not everyone will experience sensations or visualisations. After reiki you may feel more poised and less reactive. Some going through trauma have experienced strong emotional outpouring after a treatment and this should be considered cathartic and healing as distress is leaving the body and making space for calm and healing.
